HR Generalist & Administrator

Tractor Vision is seeking an organized, resourceful, and technology-forward HR Generalist & Administrator to manage the day-to-day execution of our Human Resources function.

This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring employee documentation, HR compliance, payroll support, benefits administration, workers’ compensation, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, and related HR processes are completed accurately and consistently to support a rapidly growing business.

The HR Generalist & Administrator will work closely with the CSO, company leadership, managers, and our HR Consultant to maintain strong HR practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HR Compliance & Employee Records: Maintain organized, confidential employee records and ensure required documentation, training, eligibility, and HR practices remain current and compliant with California and Los Angeles employment requirements.
  • Employee Relations & Documentation: Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers, supporting the documentation and navigation of employee concerns, performance issues, corrective actions, and other employee-relations matters.
  • Payroll & Employee Administration: Support all aspects of payroll and employee administration, including employee records, status and compensation changes, payroll documentation, offer letters, and coordination with management and payroll partners.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Own and continuously improve the employee lifecycle from accepted offer through departure, including employment eligibility, documentation, payroll, benefits, 401(k), systems, training, and offboarding.
  • Benefits & 401(k) Administration: Administer employee health benefits and 401(k) processes, including eligibility, enrollment, changes, terminations, employee communication, and coordination with brokers and plan providers.
  • Workers’ Compensation & Leave Administration: Manage the administrative lifecycle of workers’ compensation claims, workplace injuries, leaves, accommodations, work restrictions, and return-to-work documentation and coordination.
  • Compensation, Performance & Management Support: Support management with compensation discussions and negotiations, performance management, employee write-ups, corrective actions, and consistent HR documentation and practices across departments.
  • HR Systems, Technology & Automation: Tractor Vision is committed to building a modern HR function with the goal of creating digitized, automated, efficient, and scalable systems.The HR Generalist & Administrator will be expected to become highly proficient in our systems and actively identify opportunities to improve how the department operates.

Requirements

  • 2–5+ years of experience in Human Resources, HR administration, People Operations, payroll administration, or a comparable role.
  • Basic knowledge of California employment practices and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience with employee onboarding/offboarding, payroll administration, benefits, workers’ compensation, employee documentation, and personnel records.
  • Comfortable receiving and documenting employee complaints and handling confidential workplace matters.
  • Experience supporting managers with performance management, compensation discussions, corrective actions, and employee relations.
  • Experience supporting hourly workforces strongly preferred.
  • Experience in fabrication, construction, manufacturing, events, production, warehousing, or another fast-moving operational environment is a plus.

  • Must be comfortable working in person in East Downtown Los Angeles.

Compensation

Starting range: $25–$30/hour; higher compensation may be considered based on experience and qualifications

Job Type: Part-time ; Approximately 20–30 hours per week following full time introductory/training period

Hourly Range: $25-$38 DOE
