Tractor Vision is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Project Manager of Custom Fabrication for the Events / Entertainment industry.

Tractor Vision is located in East Downtown Los Angeles and is a leader in the design and fabrication industry for events, trade shows, entertainment and cultural experiences. The company was founded in 2004, and has been on a steady growth stream.

We are looking for a strong team player who takes ownership - an individual with a “Make It Happen” attitude. This position requires an organized, concise, detail oriented approach with comprehensive and structured communication. You must have experience in fabrication shops in this role which requires previous experience in a similar role or industry.

A Project Manager at Tractor Vision works with clients from the initial bidding stage of the project to the final details of closing the job, including assisting with estimating. This position is expected to lead cost control, brainstorm efficiencies and maintain our standards of quality from fabrication to installation independently at times. This requires you to be a master at orchestrating people, tracking information, understanding construction and predicting roadblocks in order to prevent them. JOB REQUIREMENTS
In a nutshell, this job requires you to have:

● ESTIMATE:

  • Work with management to produce estimates for bids with realistic timelines and resources.
  • This requires a solid understanding of materials and finishes along with current pricing / techniques.

● CREATIVE:

  • Able to work with and drive creative and technical design teams based on client needs and budgets.
  • Ability to read and translate blueprints and technical designs into actionable, buildable items.

● MANAGEMENT:

  • Manage job(s) with budgets up to $500,000+. (Tiered positions and placement based on skill set and experience)
  • Experience creating work back, installation and production schedules.
  • Managing multiple third party vendors based on project scope.
  • Thorough end to end project planning.
  • Managerial skills: You’ll be overseeing a team of people that will build, paint and install these projects – at times on tight, demanding timelines. You will need to support keeping them on task which requires great tact and teamwork with the utmost respect for all individuals. We're looking for those who work well under pressure and understand tactful management techniques to motivate and move individuals while maintaining good rapport and giving them necessary information to perform.
  • Maintain composure, transparency and open communication with both clients and internal team. This can be a challenge for those who are not detail oriented.

● TECHNOLOGY: Must be able to operate independently in the following platforms

  • Google Suite including Gmail, Google Drive, Sheets, Docs & Slides
  • Project Management Tools such as Monday.com, Asana, smartsheets or similar
  • Sketchup / Vectorworks / CAD understanding to view 3D models ( plus, but no required)

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

●Minimum 2+ years in custom fabrication, specifically the Entertainment or Event industry, directly managing clients and production.

● Experience and understanding of the fabrication industry. If your vocabulary does not include “Wall Flat, MDF, COI, Laminates, 14gauge, narrow crown staple and so forth“ please don’t apply.

● Experience estimating budgets of $200K+ (preferred)

All candidates will be asked to fill out a pre-screening questionnaire, and a work simulation test on site under the direction of the CEO. Skills we will test are:

REQUIRED SKILLS:

● Ability to Manipulate Spreadsheets and understanding of cloud based tools (GSuite)

● Ability to talk colors, shapes, sizes and materials based on a budget / creative direction and visually deliver information to clients through decks.

● Ability to breakdown a project in stages: Design, Fabrication, Finishing, Graphics & Logistics

Required Skills

Experience:

  • Project management: 2 years minimum (Required - Tiered positions and placement based on skill set and experience)

Work Location: In person + Ability to Travel
