SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER — EXPERIENTIAL / CUSTOM FABRICATION

Tractor Vision is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with direct experiential production and custom fabrication experience to lead complex, high-profile projects from initial estimating and pre-production through fabrication, installation, strike, and financial closeout.

Founded in 2004, Tractor Vision is a Los Angeles-based design and fabrication company producing experiential activations, branded environments, trade shows, live events, premieres, and cultural experiences for globally recognized brands and agency partners.

This is a senior-level production role for an experienced industry professional. Candidates must have successfully managed projects within experiential production, custom fabrication, scenic, exhibits, events, or a closely related environment. Experience managing projects specifically within a fabrication shop is strongly preferred.

Our Senior Project Managers are expected to operate as owners of their projects. You will be accountable for scope, budget, schedule, client communication, internal resources, vendors, fabrication, logistics, installation, change management, and final project profitability.

Success requires the ability to anticipate problems before they become problems, make sound decisions under pressure, understand how things are built, and lead multiple internal and external teams toward a common deadline.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Senior Project Managers are measured against clear performance expectations, including:

Project profitability: Manage projects toward Tractor Vision's target margins, actively identifying risks and opportunities to protect profitability.
Budget & cost control: Maintain accurate, current project financials and proactively address cost overruns before they impact margin.
Change-order capture: Identify out-of-scope work quickly and ensure changes are documented, priced, approved, and billed.
Schedule performance: Deliver projects on time while maintaining realistic internal milestones for design, procurement, fabrication, QC, logistics, and installation.
Forecast accuracy: Maintain reliable cost-to-complete projections and provide leadership with early visibility into financial or operational risk.
Client leadership: Serve as a confident, solutions-oriented senior point of contact capable of managing sophisticated agency and brand partners.
Production readiness: Ensure drawings, materials, labor, vendors, logistics, site requirements, and installation plans are resolved before they become field problems.
Quality & closeout: Deliver work that meets Tractor Vision's quality standards while completing documentation, billing support, and financial closeout promptly.

We are looking for someone who combines commercial awareness with production expertise - a PM who understands that delivering an incredible project also means protecting scope, margin, schedule, and the team executing the work.

The right candidate is highly organized, decisive, technically curious, financially disciplined, and an exceptional communicator. You should be comfortable leading projects independently, challenging assumptions when necessary, and bringing solutions - not simply escalating problems.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of Project Management experience in experiential production, custom fabrication, scenic fabrication, exhibits, live events, or a directly related industry.
Direct experience working with or within a fabrication shop and a strong understanding of how custom builds move from design and engineering through fabrication, finishing, logistics, installation, and strike.
Proven experience independently managing complex projects of $500K+, with responsibility for budget, schedule, scope, client communication, vendors, and final delivery.
Demonstrated responsibility for project financial performance, including cost tracking, forecasting, change orders, procurement, labor management, and protecting project margin.
Strong working knowledge of construction and fabrication methods, materials, technical drawings, production schedules, and installation requirements.
Experience managing multiple concurrent, deadline-driven projects with competing priorities and significant operational complexity.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, including designers, technical teams, shop personnel, subcontractors, vendors, logistics partners, and installation crews.
Strong client-facing experience with the ability to lead meetings, manage expectations, communicate difficult information, and confidently represent the company with agency and brand partners.
Demonstrated ability to identify risk early, troubleshoot independently, and develop solutions rather than relying on senior leadership for day-to-day project decisions.
Highly organized with disciplined documentation, communication, scheduling, and financial reporting practices.
Ability to work on-site in Los Angeles as required and travel for installations, events, and project delivery, including occasional nights and weekends.
Long-term growth mindset and high level of accountability with a track record of taking ownership from project award through financial closeout.

Not an entry-level or transitional PM role: Candidates without direct experiential, fabrication, scenic, exhibit, or comparable production experience will not be considered.
